Cross-device Observation (all devices)(02)

1. Back to default
Area:- Main navigation links
Observation:- Every time a user visits the site, he is thrown into the default category (Women) - even though he always go to the Men’s section.
Screenshot:-

Why it may affect users:-
- Users have to manually click to reach the Men’s section, every single time.
- This adds friction: a click + waiting for the next page to load.
- It’s a micro-annoyance that makes the experience feel impersonal.
My Recommendation:-
- Remember returning users’ past category visits.
- Automatically open their most frequently visited category first (e.g. “Men” for a user).
- It creates a sense of being seen and understood like a familiar shopkeeper who knows your preferences.
Expected Results:- It boosts retention by making users feel recognized.

2. Two click to search
Area:- Search icon
Observation:- Search bar needs two clicks before users starts typing.
Screenshot:-

Why it may affect users:-
- Users have to click two times , one to expand the search bar and 2nd to start typing in the field.
- People who use search often know what they want. Making them click twice wastes time and may stop them from continuing.
My Recommendation:-
- Show the expanded search field by default, or
- if space is a concern expand the search bar immediately upon click and focus the cursor automatically for tying.
Expected Results:- It saves time for serious buyers and leads to more product views and more chances of getting sales.

1. No further navigation
Area:- Navigation links
Observation:- In Mobile homepage sub-category navigation appears after search bar is clicked - for new users finding sub-category can become difficult.
Screenshot:-

Why it may affect users:-
- Navigation is not only use to move between categories but also to show what else and for whom you sell on your site.
- Users don’t expect them to be inside the search bar especially new users which can lead to bounce.
My Recommendation:-
- Add navigation highlighting every category you serve for.
- Place them inside a hamburger menu or under bottom navigation.
- Show high intent or desirable category ( Sales, Bestseller, New arrival) on top.
- Priortise highly searched category first for faster action.
Expected Results:- Increases product discovery and chances for higher AOV.
